The mission of the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC-DCSL) is to recruit and enroll students from groups under-represented at the bar, provide a well-rounded theoretical and practical legal education that will enable students to be effective and ethical advocates, represent the legal needs of low-income District of Columbia residents through the school=s legal clinics, and fulfill the university's land grant responsibilities.
The School of Law focuses particularly on preparing students for the regional job market. Since the legal profession is one of the primary industries in the District of Columbia and one of the fastest growing occupations, the School of Law=s graduates are in a position to provide much needed human resources, especially for the many public interest, public service, and public policy legal needs of the District.
