FAFSA College Deadlines and Applying Early
Competition for grants, scholarships and financial aid is expected to be tougher for the coming year. Don't miss out on aid because of confusing deadlines for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Available at fafsa.ed.gov, the form must be completed to be considered for government grants and loans and both the government and prospective colleges will review it. The federal deadline on the form is June 30, but schools' financial aid deadlines listed in the colleges' materials are as early as this February.
Students who apply early have access to the most funds. Over time, financial aid is given away to applicants leaving less money for those who put off applying. Some funds, like student loans, are unlimited but are a less attractive option. Apply early to improve your chances of the most financial aid.

The FAFSA deadlines for the various financial aid programs sponsored by an institution are established by the individual school's financial aid office. Check with the financial aid office at school you want to attend or currently are attending.
FAFSA College Deadlines and your School Code
When you fill out your FAFSA Application you will be asked for the School Code for each school you are applying to. Use the FAFSA Online School Codes Directory to retrieve those school codes now. In addition, you'll be provided with the contact information for the school's financial aid office so that you may contact them regarding their financial aid application deadlines.
