FASA Application - FAFSA Application
Did you accidentally search for FASA when you meant to type in FAFSA? Even though, the acronym FASA can theoretically stand for Federal Application for Student Aid, it isn't a formal term that has been approved by the U.S. government.

Besides FASA, there are a variety of other words and phrases that are searched for by students and parents, when their actual interest is in the FAFSA Online Website.
To reiterate, the correct term you are looking for is FAFSA, not FASA. No, we are not trying to be difficult, but this fact is very important. Filing your FAFSA online is a free service but if you accidentally type the incorrect term into a search engine, you may end up at a website where you have to pay money unnecessarily. There are legitimate paid services out there, but in general, filing this federal application online should be free. If you need help with your FAFSA financial aid application, talk to your school's financial aid officer(s) or call the toll-free number on this web site.
After the seven day reporting period, you will be sent an SAR (Student Aid Report) upon receipt of all required signatures. Your SAR will summarize the data you reported on your FAFSA (not FASA) application. Check this information very carefully to make sure it is accurate. Also, keep a copy of your SAR and note your Data Release Number (DRN) in the bottom left hand corner of the first page; you will need your DRN if you decide to apply to additional schools. If your FAFSA (again, not FASA) information is complete, an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) will be printed in the upper-right hand corner. Your EFC is based on the financial information you provide on the FAFSA, it is used by your school to determine your financial aid.
